Neat Craft

the girls made a tree today!  We used an old cardboard box that we found in the garage. We cut a large circle for top and a rectangle for the trunk.  We taped the two pieces together to make the tree. They then went on a leaf hunt to find a few leaves that have already fallen to the ground.  Then we glued the leaves onto the circle.  We found a few flowers to add as well and then they drew an "owl hole" and lines on the trunk and added grass and bugs!

Feeling a bit blue

I know in 30 years it won't matter if I have that cute item from etsy  or if I got that awesomely cute picture of the kids in their month to month oneies or other cute posed pictures.  But right now, I look at them and wish I had them.
I know what matters is my girls go to bed every night knowing that I love them and are so very proud of them.  I know deep down that is what matters most.

So I guess this means I'm a cheer mom now

Kayleigh has joined a cheerleading team.  She loves the uniform.  She loves practice.  She loves it all.  Somehow I got roped into being one of the team moms.
Kayleigh likes to make up her own moves.  Audrey knows the cheers to, thanks to Kayleigh.
Don't you just love how the skirt is shorter than her shorts......I think it could fit my right thigh.

Audrey's birthday dinner

Homemade Chicken Nuggets

Audrey wanted chicken nuggets, mashed potatoes, cucumbers and mac and cheese for her birthday dinner yesterday.   I was feeling good, so I made some homemade chicken nuggets along with homemade mashed potatoes and the mac and cheese too

Yum-O!

1 cup gluten free bread crumbs
1/2 cup fresh Parmesan cheese
1 1/2 lb cut up chicken
pepper, salt, onion and garlic powders to taste.
use your favorite whatever to dip your chicken in before you bread it.  I wanted to use buttermilk, but I was all out so I used an egg.

Using EVO in a hot pan on the stove pan fry nuggets until no longer pink in the middle.

The girls loved them!!!

6 more days of school

There are 6 more days of school left for this year.  Doesn't really matter for me since I will be working the summer program.  I still haven't heard anything about a full time position and it is drivin me nuts.  I mean, who wouldn't want me to be a teacher in their school?
I've worked in a few schools in my career and as I witnessed today, it is sad who they keep because they kiss up and can get away with anything, but let the good teachers go because they don't conform to what they want.  I hate that teaching is not about how well you teach, but about how much you can kiss up or who you know.
Damn,  wish I knew someone.

Add this to the list of things to be afraid of

a stinkin bob cat!

I was driving to work and saw what I thought was a bear run up a tree.  It had a long tail (or so I thought)  and went on thinking it was a bear and the tail I saw was not really a tail.   Nope,  not a bear but a black bob cat!

Can I tell you how much I love living in the country?  no?  that's because I'm still getting used to it.

This morning

Woke up in the morning feeling like P. Diddy (well, not really because I'm sure he wouldn't have had to pick up garbage eaten by a bear)  brushed my teeth with a bottle of Jack (once again, not really because we were out of Jack so I used some Crest)  cause when I leave for the night I ain't coming back (I usually come back around 4:00pm after work)................................

So this morning, Randy tells me to go check what is outside  and this is the site I saw.

That's right people a big freakin brown bear eating our garbage.  Lovely.  Just add this to the list of things I need to worry about living in the country.  He was a young cub about 2.   Bears love poopy diapers and baby food.  Who knew?  Audrey wanted to pet the bear and Kayleigh wanted nothing to do with it.  Faith waved Hi and laughed.  Randy, not so much for he was the one that had to clean up the garbage left by the bear.  Poor Audrey kept crying for the bear.  I can picture it now.  "oh mr. bear, come here.  I ride you.  I ride you now!!!!!!!"  and I bet the bear would do it too, to make her stop crying.
Some people told us to call animal control.  Yeah, right,  they would laugh at us and then hang up.  We would make there day.
At school, when we take the kids outside for recess, we need to carry a bottle of Bear Spray.  Yes, yes, I'm for real.  Bear Spray, its mace for bears.  I was told to spray it in the bears face if it came near the playground.  Oh yes,  "excuse me mr. bear, just sit there for a second so I can pull this pin out and spray you in the face.....yes, yes,  I'm not sure how to use it...wanna show me how and spray yourself.  Why thank you mr. bear"   I've got a better idea,  I'm gonna chuck the bottle at the bear and tell the kids to run and never look back  umm kay?

Earth Day Cookies

So, I love to bake.  I look for any excuse to bake.  It was a sunny day?  Le'ts bake.  It's raining?  Let's bake.  You get the idea.  Well this year we (ok, I) wanted to bake cookies that looked like the Earth.  Very simple to do.

Grab your favorite sugar cookie reciepe.  I wanted to use my mom's sugar cookie reciepe, but I didn't have all the ingredents so I settled for a different one.

Make your sugar cookies,  divide cookie mix into three different bowls.  Leave one white, color one blue, and the other one green.
to make the cookies, take a bit of each color and mix them together and roll into a ball.  Place on cookie sheet and flatten.  and above is the end results!

I just realized...

I never wrote about our trip to Camden Adventure.

So we met up with a friend at Camden Adventure to see the sharks and sea turtles.  We have season passes and I wanted to use them one last time before they expired at the end of this month.  We normally don't go on the weekends, but we were showing our house and needed to be out of it.
When we got there, there was a rather large tour group there.  We managed to stay out of their way for the most part.
The girls were getting their face painted when a young lady from the tour group asked if she took take a picture of the face painting hut.  I thought she was being very thoughtful to ask since K would be in the picture..................oh was I wrong.  She jumps behind Kayleigh, holds on to the chair and smiles so big and her husband snaps away.  um okay.  So two thoughts run through my head.  1) she is now going to end up on some website selling American babies or 2) don't worry, she will just be in some random strangers photo album.  Let's hope for #2.
So the girls get their faces painted and we go stand in line to watch the 4-D movie.  Another couple from the tour group start to video tape Audrey.  The older lady kneels down and starts to talk to Audrey.  In a blink of an eye SHE PICKS UP AUDREY and dances with her while her husband video tapes it!!!!  What in the world???????  My husband just stands there and doesn't say anything.  I start to say "put down my child" and she lays eyes on Kayleigh.  She discards Audrey and tries to pick up Kayleigh.  By then Randy finds his voice and pulls Kayleigh away from the crazy American baby seller.
We watch the movie and the girls seem to have forgotten about the whole thing.  As I'm walking out of the movie I feel that Faith needs a diaper change.  So I run a head to change her in the nursing room (I"ll nurse her there too while I'm at it)  As I'm leaving the movie another lady from the tour group starts talking to Faith.  "oh baby want a cookie? baby want a cookie?" nope I say, she wants her diaper changed. and I run away.  Safe behind closed doors, I feed and change the baby.  As I'm feedind the baby a MAN opens the door to the nursing room!  Mind you I placed the "Room in use" sign on the door (which is at eye level).  What seems like forever, he finally closes the door.  I finish up and open the door to see them standing there (the man, his wife and their baby)  I put on an ugly face and point to the "room in use " sign.  The guy goes, Oh, its ok.  Its ok.  I go back at him. "no, its not ok to open a door on a nursing mother exposing her to the world"  he goes "no, its ok.  I only opened the door a little"  "NO, NO , its not ok.  Learn to be nice and not rude".
We eat lunch and see the sharks and left.  I couldn't wait to leave.

The year is 1/3 over and it still sucks

2011 was supposed to be better than 2010.  So far, not true.

I like to think that I'm a good person so why am I going through all this shit right now?  I know it will only make me "stronger" but gosh darn it, I'm ready for it to be over.

How do I get a company to give me free stuff?

I see all these other blogs and they get free stuff and then some to give away.  I want in.

My new craft didn't turn out

I tried my hand at appliqueing, but it didn't turn out.  I'm super pissed about it too.  I hate when I fail at a craft project.  It is one of my down falls, I want things to be perfect the first time around and when its not, I feel like I failed.  I'll try appliqueing again soon.

Wish me luck

I'm going to try to do a new craft project tomorrow.  I don't know how it will turn out.  I bet it will involve a lot of swearing though!

7 Random Facts about me

Thanks to my favorite sister in law, I now have to write 7 random facts about me, so here they are:

1.  I can touch my nose with my tongue.  So far 2 of my 3 girls can as well.
2.  I can pick up almost anything with my toes.  It was a blessing during pregnancy.
3. I have NF type 1.  I pray every day my girls don't have it.  They don't have any signs of NF yet.  I don't know how I would deal with the fact that I gave them NF.
4. I hate the snow.
5. As much as she was a pain in the behind, I really miss my mom's dog Remi.  I wish she was still able to live with us.
6. I can cry at a drop of a hat and turn it off just as quickly.
7. I can't wait to get my breast done when we can afford it.  I'm tired of them being at my knees.

So I wish I knew 7 others to tag but I don't, so if you read my blog, leave a comment and then tell me 7 random facts about you!

EI evaluation

Yesterday, Early Intervention came to and do an eval on Audrey for speech.  She was doing everything they asked of her.  She scored at or above her age level.  Clear as day Audrey stated to the speech lady "I farted"  such a proud mommy moment.
She does not qualify for any services because it is an artiulation issue and they don't deal with those.  So it is up to us to sound like we are "robots' and make sure she hears every little sound in a word.  So don't worry if you hear me say "Hell o there la dy bug and butt er fly."

Audrey

So Audrey speaks in what we like to call Audrey-inese.  She is going to be evaluated my Early Intervention this week.   I hope this will help her.

"It's not fair, I don't even get to live like a princess!"

Kayleigh has been acting like a 4 1/2 year old. Not listening, back talking, you know the usual.  The other night I sent her to her room because she wasn't listening.  As she is stomping to her room she is crying/screaming "I'm not being daddy's princess any more.  I don't look like a princess, I don't sleep like a princess, I don't get to dress like a princess, it's not fair, I don't even get to live like a princess!"  Meanwhile Audrey is saying "I listening, I a princess"
One might wonder why does she even think she is a princess?  I wish I could live like a princess too, but I don't think throwing myself on the floor would be a  good idea.  I might get the side eye from people.  Randy talked to her and said she will always be his princess and told her she could wear a tiara all day tomorrow.  geee, I wonder where she got that idea of being a princess.  I asked Randy if I could wear my wedding tiara all day tomorrow too, but the answer was no.
(throwing myself on the floor screaming "It's not fair, I don't even get to dress like a princess!"

Feb. 9 is coming up quickly

One year ago on Feb 9th we found out that baby #3 was a girl.  My mother was there with us watch little Miss Faith wiggle around.  She left that day with a big smile on her face.  She couldn't wait to have another little princess as a granddaughter.

As we left the appointment that day, we laughed, hugged and said goodbye.  That was the last time I saw my mother alive.
